Cristina Tomaino
Cristina advises employers on a broad scope of labour, employment, and human rights issues, including employment standards, grievance arbitration, collective bargaining, interest arbitration, and workplace accommodation. She has significant experience advising both unionized and non-unionized employers on labour and employment issues arising from corporate transactions or reorganizations. Cristina is also an experienced workplace investigator and regularly assists employers in responding to allegations of workplace harassment, violence, and discrimination.
Cristina is committed to building long-lasting relationships with her clients and providing practical, results-oriented solutions to complex legal problems. Cristina’s clients benefit from her ability to communicate complex legal concepts in an accessible and understandable manner. She works closely with employers to proactively navigate workplace issues, foster positive labour relations, and avoid costly litigation.
Cristina represents a broad range of private and public sector clients. She is also a member of the SV Law Municipal Law practice group and is well-versed in the complexities of municipal labour and employment law.
After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, Cristina obtained her law degree from Western University. During law school, Cristina served as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Western Journal of Legal Studies and as an editor for the Canadian Journal of Law and Jurisprudence. Cristina currently sits on the board of Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis.
Outside the practice of law, Cristina enjoys hiking, painting, and planning her next road trip!
